Dr. Edward Fruitman graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine. Dr. Fruitman completed his residency at Einstein/Montefiore. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Fruitman is nationally recognized as an expert in the field of Psychopharmacology. He has delivered over 700 lectures and presentations at medical conferences, in grand rounds and other medical education settings.
Dr. Fruitman specializes in the treatment of Anxiety and Depression. Dr. Fruitman is the first psychiatrist to use TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) in the Five Towns area. Dr. Fruitman helps his patients in many areas of their lives. He has experience in treatment of eating disorders, adult attention deficit disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, sexual dysfunctions, family problems, insomnia, and substance abuse. For patients suffering from prescription pain killer/opiate dependence, Dr. Fruitman offers Buprenorphine/Suboxone outpatient treatment. Dr. Fruitman is an expert in treatment of obesity and offers a patented medical weight loss program in affiliation with Long Island Weight Loss Institute.
